[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 사천시 산불전문예방진화대가 경남도 산불지상진화 경연대회서 ‘대상’을 차지했다.
경남도가 주최하고 산청군과 한국산불방지기술협회 경남지회가 주관한 ‘2022년 경상남도 산불지상진화 경연대회’는 지난 17일 산청군 신안면 안봉리 둔철생태체험숲에서 열렸다.
이번 대회에는 도내 18개 시.군 산불전문예방진화대원과 공무원, 유관기관 관계자 등 300여 명이 참여해 실력을 겨뤘다.
이번 경연대회는 급수원에서부터 산불 현장까지 진화용수를 신속하게 공급해 산불을 제압하는 ‘산불진화 기계화시스템’ 장비의 숙달 여부를 측정하는 방식으로 진행했다.
산불진화 기계화시스템은 진화 차량의 진입이 불가능한 산불을 신속하고 효율적으로 진화하기 위해 중·대형펌프와 2종의 호스를 연결해 진화용수 공급 효율을 최대화할 수 있도록 고안된 시스템이다.
이날 사천시 산불전문예방진화대는 250m 반환점을 돌아 출발점에 비치된 물통에 담수를 완료하는데, 9분03초의 최단시간을 기록하며 대상을 차지했다.
특히, 사천시 산불전문예방진화대는 2018, 2019년 연속으로 우수를 차지하는 등 산불지상진화에 탁월한 능력을 발휘하고 있다. 2020년 2021년은 코로나19로 산불지상진화 경연대회가 개최되지 않아 참여하지 못했다.
