[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 11일 오후 도청 도정회의실에서 거제시, JMTC컨소시엄과 함께 장목관광단지를 국제해양관광거점으로 구축하고자 업무협약을 체결했다.
이날 협약을 통해 장목관광단지의 성공적인 조성과 함께 거제를 국제관광도시로 완성해 지속가능한 지역성장 동력을 마련하고, 남해안을 동북아를 대표하는 새로운 해양관광의 메카로 발돋움할 수 있도록 협력하기로 했다.
주요협력 분야는 ▲장목관광단지 조성사업의 성공적 추진 ▲장목관광단지 주변 인프라 확충을 위한 연계사업 추진 ▲장목관광단지를 비롯한 장목프로젝트 전략지구 확대 개발 ▲국제관광도시 거제를 통한 남해안 관광 활성화 ▲경상남도 관광 역점사업 및 기타 공동 발전사업 발굴 등이다.
장목관광단지는 거제시 장목면 구영리 일원에 총 1조 2천억 원의 민간자본을 투입해 거제의 자연과 과학기술, 문화예술이 융복합된 힐링 체류형 휴양시설로 조성하는 사업이다.
