충남도가 전국 최대규모의 수리시설 관련 예산을 확보했다고 밝혔다.
충남도가 확보한 관련 예산은 958억 원으로 이는 전국 예산 6300억 원의 15.2%에 해당하는 예산으로 전국에서 가장 많은 예산 확보라는 게 충남도의 설명이다.
수리시설 개보수사업 예산 958억 원은 수원공 분야 49지구 644억 원, 용·배수로 분야 40지구 314억 원 등 도내 88지구에 투입되는 국비 확보 예산이다.
충남도는 이번에 확보한 국비와 이미 확보한 올해 농업 생산 기반 시설 정비사업의 국비 1251억 원을 더해 총 147지구에 국비 2209억 원을 지원, 안정적인 영농 환경을 조성할 계획이라고 밝혔다.
수리시설 개보수는 기존 노후 양·배수장 및 저수지 개·보수, 용·배수로 보수·보강 등을 추진하는 사업으로, 전액 국비로 지원한다.
현재 도내 전체 농업 기반 시설은 6856개로 노후·파손 등으로 인해 개보수가 시급한 상황이다.
그동안 예산이 부족해 유지관리에 어려움을 겪었지만, 이번 국비 확보로 재해를 예방하고 물 손실을 최소화하는 영농 편의 기반 시설을 구축할 수 있게 됐다.
올해 지원하는 신규 지구는 전대 저수지 개보수 등 23지구(총사업비 653억 원)로, 도는 연내 세부 설계와 시행계획 수립을 완료하고 조속히 사업에 착수할 계획이다.
충남도 관계자는 "이번 국비 확보로 그동안 예산부족으로 인해 보수보강에 어려움이 있었던 것이 크게 해소될 것으로 기대된다"고 말했다.
