한국농어촌공사 고양지사는 9일 고양지사 직원 및 지역 농업인 등 15명이 참여하여 고양시 덕양구 화정동 일대에서‘내고향 물살리기’ 행사를 실시하였다.
이번 행사는 농업용수로 주변에 쌓여 있는 쓰레기 등을 수거함으로써 지역민에게 쾌적한 환경을 제공하고 원활하고 깨끗한 농업용수를 공급하자는 취지에서 공사와 농업인이 뜻을 같이하였다.

공사는 이날 행사를 통해 농작물 수확 후 버려진 폐비닐 및 생활폐기물 등 약 0.6톤을 수거하였다.
김광석 고양지사장은 “깨끗한 물의 보전은 지자체, 지역주민 등 구성원 모두의 지속적인 관심과 유기적인 참여가 무엇보다도 중요하다.”라며, “공사는 ‘내고향 물살리기’ 행사를 지속적으로 추진함으로써 환경보존의 중요성을 지역민들에게 홍보하고 깨끗한 농업용수 공급을 위해 최선을 다할 것”이라고 말했다.[고양=박정호 기자]
