조치원비행장 이전부지에 대한 문화재조사가 마무리 됐다.
9일 세종시에 따르면 조치원·연기비행장 통합이전 건설공사’ 가 진행중인 연서면 월하리 일원 문화재 조사가 지난달 말 끝났다.
조사 결과 ▲주거 및 경작 등의 흔적 148건 ▲ 토기조각 등 유물288점이 발견됐다. 발견된 유적과 유물은 문화재 전문 연구기관의 분석과 연구 과정을 거쳐 2025년 쯤 국립박물관으로 이관될 예정이다.
이번 문화재 정밀발굴조사는 연기비행장과 조치원비행장을 2025년 말까지 조치원비행장 남측 부지로 통합 이전함에 따라 공사에 앞서 진행됐다.
조치원·연기비행장은 비행장 활주로·정비고가 인근 마을과 근접해 있어 소음에 따른 민원이 잇따르고, 고도제한으로 주민들이 재산권에 제약을 받으면서 이전 필요성이 지속적으로 대두돼왔다.
현재 조치원·연기비행장 통합이전 공사는 전체 공정률은 지난해 말 기준 약 40%이다.
최근에는 국방부의 조치원비행장 헬기전용작전기지 변경 입법예고에 따라 조치원읍, 연서면 일원 비행안전구역 축소에 대한 주민들의 기대가 높아지고 있는 상황이다.
고성진 미래전략본부장은 “문화재 정밀조사가 10개월 가량 소요되었지만 2025년까지 이전사업을 완료할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다’고 말했다.
