국가철도공단, 대전 장등천교 통로박스 개통

대전시 대덕구 장등천교 철도 하부 도로인 통로박스가 15일 개통됐다.

국가철도공단 충청본부는 대전시 대덕구 읍내동에 위치한 경부선 장등천교 개량공사를 마무리하고 이날 개통했다.

1905년에 지어진 장등천교는 그동안 시설이 노후화되고 도로가 협소해 안전위험과 차량통행의 불편을 겪어왔었다..

이에, 충청본부는 지난 2017년 7월 대전시 대덕구와 위·수탁 협약을 체결하고 사업비 137억 원을 투입해 철도횡단 통로박스를 왕복 2차선으로 확장했다.

이번 개통으로 열차안전운행 확보는 물론 보행안전과 교통편의가 크게 개선될 것으로 공단은 기대했다.

국가철도공단 김용두 충청본부장은 “장등천교 개통으로 시설물 안전 확보는 물론 교통흐름 개선 등 교통편의 증진에도 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다”며, “앞으로도 노후화된 철도시설물 개량을 통해 안전사고를 예방하고 지역주민들의 불편사항 개선에 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
