브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 대우건설은 베트남 기획투자부(MPI : Ministry of Planning and Investment)를 통해 베트남 현지 시각장애인 지원프로그램인 ‘Program for Community Development’에 3년간 30억동(약 1억7000만원)을 기부한다고 18일 밝혔다.
지난 17일 오전 MPI 청사에서 개최된 기부 행사에는 대우건설 김보현 총괄부사장, 심상철 노조위원장, 안국진 베트남THT법인장 등 대우건설 주요관계자와 응웬티빅응옥 MPI 차관과 도반스 외국인투자부청장 등 베트남 주요인사가 참석했다.
대우건설의 기부금은 3년간 베트남 시각장애인들의 사회적응 프로그램 운영 및 사회적기업 취업 지원, 장애인 필요물품 지원에 사용될 예정이다.
대우건설 김보현 총괄부사장은 “대우건설은 100년 기업으로 발돋움하고 미래 공동체의 지속가능성을 실현하기 위해 ESG 경영체계를 확립했다”며 “대우건설은 베트남 진출 후 일관되게 지역사회에 기여하는 동반성장을 추구해왔으며 앞으로도 베트남 사회의 구성원으로 책임을 다하기 위한 노력을 계속하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 대우건설은 양국 정식 수교 체결 이전인 1990년도부터 베트남에 진출해 하노이 대우호텔 등 다양한 사업을 진행했다. 현재 베트남 하노이에서 첫 한국형 신도시인 스타레이크시티 개발사업을 진행하고 있으며, 최근 각광받고 있는 관광지인 푸꾸옥에서도 주거개발사업에 참여하고 있다.
