‘세상에서 가장 듣기 좋은 소리는
아기 젖 넘기는 소리와 논에 물대는 소리‘라고 하는데
지금 마른 대지를 촉촉이 적셔주는 봄비도 추가해야겠다.
어김없이 계절은 흘러 돌아온다.
흐드러진 꽃들이 가슴을 설레게 하며
연두색으로 물들여져 번지게 하는 빗방울도 정겹다
문득 황병기 선생님의 가야금 연주곡들이 이 계절의
싹을 틔우는 소리처럼 빗줄기 사이에 흘러 들리는듯하다.
어느 해인가 아메리카 갓 탈랜트에서 한국의 댄스 팀
저스트 절크 JustJerk가 출연하여 세계인들의 숨을 멎게 하는
아름답고 절도 있고 예술적인 댄스를 보여준 적이 있다.
한국인들을 너무 자랑스럽게 만들어 주었던
그 젊은이들은 한국적 이미지를 연상케 하는
붉은색 곤룡포를 입고 다양한 춤사위를 보여 주었는데,
전반부에서 후반부로 넘어가는 3분30초 즈음에
격렬한 댄스동작이 갑자기 정지화면처럼 멈추어지며
빗방울이 대지에 부딪는 듯 가야금 소리를 배경으로
절제되고 유려한 춤사위로 댄스를 고품격 무용으로
격상시켜 보는 이들을 감동케 했었던 기억이 떠올려진다.
그때 흘렀던 가야금 연주가 황병기 선생님의 창작곡으로
널리 알려졌던 ‘침향무’ 2악장의 한 부분이었다.
그 가야금 소리는 우리뿐 아니라 지켜보는 세계인들이 다시 음악을
찾아보게 한 관능적이면서도 기품 있는 아름다운 소리였었다.
연한 빗줄기가
잠들었던 새 생명을 깨워 파스텔화를 그려내듯이
‘춘설’, ‘봄’, ‘숲’ 가야금 소리는 얼음 밑으로 흐르는 시냇물소리,
씨앗이 터지며 갈지자로 땅을 솟구치는 싹이 움트는 소리,
들녘의 뭉쳐진 흙에 닿는 옅은 빗소리 들이 눈을 감으면
포근한 상상을 끊임없이 그려지게 해준다.
‘음악은 모든 예술 중 양식 면에서 최고의 추상성을 지니고
어느 개인의 일시적, 구체적 체험보다 사회전체의 역사적
체험으로부터 승화된다.
우리사회에 새로운 음악문화가 이루어진다는 것은 우리들의
역사적 체험이 정서적으로 승화 된다는 증거이다.‘라고 했던
황병기선생님의 말처럼 우리 음악이 정서적으로 진화하고
승화되어지는 것이 자랑스러워진다.
음악은 봄꽃과 같다.
봄날의 꽃들은 한꺼번에 불타오르듯 여기저기 피어난다.
사람들은 그 아름다움을 오래 동안 느끼고 간직하려 하지만
꽃은 꿈결처럼 한순간 바람에 무심히 흩어져 사라진다.
‘음악도 그 아름다운 소리가 공기 중에 파동으로
존재하면서 동시에 사라져 버린다.
사라져 버리기 때문에
더 큰 가치와 의미가 마음에 담길 수 있을 것이다.
바람에 흩어져 버리는 꽃,
그래서 우리의 가슴을 뭉클하게 만들어 준다.
봄날의 꽃과 음악은 사라지는 것 중에서도
가장 순수한 것이라고 할 수 있다.’
황병기선생님의 가야금의 소리가 가슴에서 울린다.
오랜 역사적 체험이 정서적으로 승화되어졌기 때문일 것이다‘
한국적 정서를 가장 잘 녹여주는 국악기의 소리는 우리의 유전자
세포가 반응하여 가슴에 편안하고 아름답게 울릴 수 있을 것이다.
금년에 맞이한 봄은 정치와 함께 깨워졌고
또다시 국민들에게 많은 실망과 좌절을 안기며
스러져 버릴 것 같아 우리의 정치현실은 조마조마하다.
어지럽게 공약들이 난무하였고 세상을 굳세게 지키겠다고
스피커 크게 켜고 소리쳤는데, 선거가 끝나고 잘하겠다고
한 말들이 비바람에 한순간 사라지는 봄꽃처럼 공허하지
않았으면 하고 진심으로 기원한다.
참신하고 좋은 정치인들이 많이 나오고 그 영향으로 국민들의
갈채를 받는 정치가 이루어지는 선순환이 되는 상상을 해본다.
황병기 선생님의 창작곡처럼 가슴에 오랫동안 감동을 주는
정치에도 그런 울림이 있었으면 하고 국민들은 간절히 바란다.
논산 연산리 이웃은 담장너머로 정겨운 대화를 나누기도 한다.
계룡대에서 은퇴하고 꽃과 나무를 무척 사랑하는 이웃친구 강교석이
홍매화를 내 집 담장 옆에 심어 주었는데 벌써 작고 예쁜 꽃망울을 틔웠다.
그 옆에 있는 앵두나무도, 명자나무도 꽃을 피우고 기품 있는 수선화가
화단에 꽃들에 앞서 미리 노란 꽃을 아름답고 우아하게 피워냈다.
꽃과 좋은 음악,
정겹고 편안한 이웃처럼,
거짓 없고 순수하고 따뜻한 마음으로 채워지는 정치를 바라며
봄날 햇살에 기대어 아름다운 가야금소리를 듣고 또 듣는다. (글쓴이 김종태)
