화장실문화시민연대, (사)한국화장실문화협회는 4월 29일 서울시 서대문경찰서, ㈜한국몰가드와 함께 연세대학교 내에서 화장실 내에서의 불법 촬영은 중대한 범죄행위라는 캠페인 및 시범 시연을 가졌다. 이어 연세대 광복관-공학원, 백양관, 체육관, 수영장 내의 탈의실 등을 중점적으로 몰래카메라가 숨겨지진 않았는지 조사를 벌였다. 이날 캠페인은 연세대학교와 신촌거리 등에서 가졌다.
캠페인 주최측은 캠페인 중에 만난 대학생들과 시민들에게 ㈜몰가드에서 제공한 불법촬영 탐지카드를 배부했다. 이 자리에서 불법 카메라 찾아내기 참여를 부탁했으며, 불법 카메라 찾기 장비를 활용하여 찾는 방법 등의 시연을 벌였다.
함께 캠페인을 주관한 서대문경찰서 성폭력 담당 신소라 경위는 “화장실 내 불법 촬영은 물론 5천 만 원의 벌금과 7년 이하의 징역형에 처해진다”고 설명했다. 같이한 김춘희 경감은 “어떤 형태라도 성폭력은 우리사회에 발붙이지 못하게 함께 도와주시기 바란다” 강조 했다.
표혜령 화장실문화시민연대 대표는 이 캠페인과 관련 “서울 서대문 경찰서와는 6년 전부터 MOU를 맺고 화장실 내에서 불법 촬영이 없는 사회를 만들기 위한 캠페인을 꾸준히 함께 해오고 있다”고 소개하고 “정부나 기관들이 더불어 노력하고 있으나 불법촬영 근절을 위해선 나도 피해를 당할 수 있다는 의식을 가지고 화장실을 사용하는 한 사람 한 사람 모두가 함께 감시자가 되어 달라”고 요망했다.
