동국대경주병원, 보건복지부 권역정신응급의료센터 지정

12일 병원측에 따르면 권역정신응급의료센터는 정신과적 응급상황에 처해 있지만 내·외과적 문제로 인해 정신의료기관에서 바로 치료받기 어려운 환자들에게 즉각적인 내·외과적 처치와 정신과적 평가·집중치료를 제공하고, 지속적인 치료 연계를 위해 마련됐다.

동국대학교경주병원은 이번 사업 선정으로 기존 응급의료센터 내에 정신응급환자 전용병상(1인실) 2개를 마련하고 응급의학과와 정신건강의학과 의료진이 동시 협진을 실시한다. 또한 간호사·보안인력 등 전문인력을 배치하여 24시간 효과적인 초기 대응과 맞춤형 적시 치료가 가능하다.

정주호 병원장은 “자해ㆍ타해로 인한 신체질환을 동반한 정신과적 응급상황 발생 시 즉각적 초기 대응 및 집중치료를 위한 응급실 기반 인프라를 구축하고 정신응급환자의 신속 치료 및 정신건강을 위해 책임을 다하는 의료기관이 되도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
