농촌인구 고령화와 장시간 반복 노동으로 각종 안전사고에 노출된 농업인들을 위해 세종시가 신체상해 보상보험 등 보험료를 최대 80%까지 지원한다고 16일 밝혔다.
이를 위해 세종시는 농업인들의 안정적인 영농환경 조성을 위해 국비와 시비 8억 원을 들여 보험료를 지원하고 농업인의 보험료 부담을 낮춘다는 계획이다.
농업인 안전보험에 가입하면 농작업 중 발생한 부상·질병·재해 피해와 치료급여, 유족급여 등을 보장받을 수 있으며 가입 대상은 15세부터 87세까지의 농업인이다.
농기계 운행 중 사고 시 인·물적 피해를 보장하는 농기계 종합보험은 경운기, 트랙터, 콤바인, 승용이앙기 등 12종을 소유 또는 관리하는 농업경영체에 등록한 19세 이상의 농업인과 농업법인이 가입 대상이다.
보험 가입을 희망하는 농업인은 가까운 농협에 방문해 신청하고 보험료의 20%만 부담하면 된다. 보장 기간은 가입일로부터 1년이다. 지난해의 경우 농기계 종합보험에 833농가(농기계 1,365대)가 가입했고 총 30건의 사고에 대한 보험료 2700여만 원이 지급됐다.
