한수원, 대구시와 혁신형 SMR 협력한다

양 기관은 협약을 통해 대구경북통합신공항 일대 부지 적합성, 경제성 등 타당성 조사, 사업화 노력과 SSNC(SMR Smart Net-zero City 스마트도시와 SMR을 결합한 친환경 무탄소 에너지 도시)활용 탄소중립도시 조성 협력, 주민 수용성 제고 등에 대해 적극 협력하기로 했다.

한수원은 지난해 12월 혁신형 SMR 기본설계를 성공적으로 마무리하고 현재 정부연구개발 사업으로 추진하고 있는 표준설계에도 주도적으로 참여하고 있다.

황주호 한수원 사장은 “이번 협약은 한수원의 혁신형 SMR 사업화 전략과 대구경북통합신공항 일대 저렴하고 청정한 에너지 공급을 통한 도시경쟁력을 강화하고자 하는 대구시의 의지가 맞물려추진된 것”이라며, “한수원은 앞으로도 혁신형 SMR 활용을 원하는 지자체들 및 에너지 다소비기업과 지속적으로 협력을 이어가겠다”라고 말했다.
