화장실문화시민연대(대표 표혜령)는 11월 18일 보도자료에서 “2024 서울시 시민이 뽑은 우수 개방 화장실선정심사위원회를 열었다”면서 “서울시와 함께하는 시민이 뽑은 우수 개방 화장실은 그 동안 시민들이 누구나 사용하기에 편리하고 이용자의 접근성이 편리한 서울시 25개 개방화장실을 추천받고 찾아내 개방 및 청결도 접근성등의 모니터링 결과를 가지고 심의한 결과 사울지역의 우수 개방 화장실이 결정돼, 이를 공개한다” 전했다.
심사위원장인 이장훈 교수는 추천해주신 시민 모니터 분들과 개방 화장실 관계자분들에게 감사함을 전한다고 말했다.
표혜령 대표는 “개방 화장실은 화장실을 새로 설치하려면 장소나 비용 등의 문제로 어려움을 가지고 있는 장소등에 개방 화장실은 고맙고 감사한 공간이다. 이용하는 시민에게 고맙고 감사한 마음을 가지고 깨끗하게 사용해 주시기를 부탁드린다”고 강조했다.

"The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Citizens' Choice Excellent Open Toilets have been recommended by citizens for convenient use and accessibility for all citizens, and after reviewing the results of monitoring the openness, cleanliness, and accessibility, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has selected the excellent open toilets in the Seoul area, and we are announcing them."
Professor Lee Jang-hoon, the head of the judging committee, said that he would like to express his gratitude to the citizen monitors who recommended them and the open toilet officials.
Representative Pyo Hye-ryeong emphasized, "Open toilets are a place where people have difficulty installing new toilets due to issues such as location and cost.
