행정안전부 이북5도위원회 세종사무소는 27일 세종테크노파크 대회의실에서 북한이탈주민과 이북도민 10가족의 결연행사를 거행했다.
이북5도 세종사무소에 따르면 이날 행사에는 기덕영 이북5도위원장과 김영섭 세종지구 이북도민 연합회장, 김일호 평안남도 도민회장, 이규순 민주평통 세종부의장, 이상호 세종시 자치행정국장 등이 참석했다.
행사는 세종시에 살고 있는 북한이탈주민들의 정착을 돕기 위해 남한 사회를 잘아는 이북도민들과 부모-자식 또는 형제-자매 결연을 맺어 결연증서를 전달하는 방식으로 진행됐다.
행사에서 김순복 북한이탈주민과 박장남 이북도민이 가족결연을 맺는 등 총 10가족 20명이 결연증서와 선물을 받았다. 이들은 앞으로 서로 도우며 유대를 강화해 나갈 계획이다.
기덕영 위원장은 기념사에서 "북한이탈주민들은 통일의 선봉이 될 수 있다"며 "대통령께서도 이들이 잘 적응하고 동화할 수 있게 도와야 한다고 강조했다"고 말했다.
가족결연 축하를 위해 세종산림조합 안종수 조합장과 세종우리신협 김연오 이사장, 독지가 김동우 씨는 북한이탈주민들에게 소정의 격려금을 전달했다.
또 북한이탈주민들의 신변보호와 정착을 도와준 경찰관 3명(김인겸, 정봉철, 문채은)이 위원장 표창을 받았고 최영남 하나된 통일가족 봉사회장 등 3명이 연합회장 표창을 받았다.
홍근진 사무소장은 "이북5도위원회는 북한이탈주민들의 남한사회 적응을 위해 다방면으로 노력하고 있다"며 "매년 가족결연행사를 확대해 운영하겠다"고 설명했다.
한편 행사에 참석한 북한이탈주민들은 앞서 지난 17일 김장담그기 모임을 갖고 자신들이 직접 담근 김치를 이북도민들에게 전달했으며 만두도 빚어 이날 저녁 식사 때 제공했다.
