어떻게 살아야 하나?
함박눈이 황산성과 연산 들녘을 하얗게 물들인다. 고뇌와 아픔으로 채워가야 하는 삶은 멈출 수 없다. 또 한 해가 시작되는 험난하고 낯선 길, 소복하게 쌓인 눈은 길의 흔적을 지웠지만 지나온 발자취를 더듬어 마음에 살아가야 할 길의 지도를 그리며 다짐한다.

길에는 사건과 서사와 사람이 있어야 한다고 한다. 권력과 재물, 소유하는 마음을 버리고 관계를 이루면서 길을 갈 때 얽매이지 않고 자유를 느낄 수 있을 것이다. 그래서 늘 새해엔 눈처럼 순백한 생각의 지도를 그려본다.

바라지 않으면 위축되거나 두려워할 것이 없다. 어차피 소유할 수 없거나 이루지 못할 수많은 목표보다 아무것도 바라지 않는 삶을 길을 걸어가고 싶다. 새로운 것을 만나게 될 길을 내디디며 노마디즘의 삶을 꿈꾸어 본다.
힘들고 어려울 때마다 초월적 존재와의 교감을 위해 기도하게 되지만 새 해에는 바라지 않고 삶의 길을 왜 가야 하는지도 물으며 걷고 싶다.
성경에는 근심, 염려하지 말라는 말이 365번 나온다고 한다. 어리석은 사람은 오직 오지 않은 미래를 가지고 근심 걱정하고 이미 지나간 일에 매달려 슬퍼한다고 한다.

멈추면 남보다 덜 가질까 봐 잠시도 쉬지 못하고 숨이 막히도록 바쁘게 살아왔다고 생각했는데 변한 것 없이 세월만 덧씌워져 있을 뿐 예정된 삶의 틀 속에 갇혀 살아진 것 같다는 생각이 든다. 그래서 문득 잊고 살아온 소중하고 그리운 것들이 새해의 길 위에 떠올려진다.

사람 위에 군림하고 권력으로 짓밟고, 평생 쓰지도 못하는 재물을 탐하며 곧게 뻗은 포장길만 쉽고 편하게 빨리 가려는 사람들과 인연을 정리해야겠다.

고달픈 자갈길을 맨발로 멀리 돌아가더라도 좋은 인연들과 맑은 시선으로 세상을 바라보며 계절을 느끼고 사랑하며 천천히 가고 싶다.
인생이란 새로운 서사가 매일 펼쳐지는 길을 가는 것이고, 길의 끝은 어디에 준비되어 있는지 아무도 모른다. 지금 2025년 새해의 길이 우리 앞에 놓여있다.
