충남 당진시가 국민권익위원회가 주관하는 ‘2024년도 공공기관 종합청렴도 평가’에서 3년 연속 2등급(우수)이라는 성과를 달성했다고 밝혔다.
이는 민선8기 출범 이후 당진시가 청렴 도시로 자리매김한 것을 의미하며, 2022년부터 2024년까지 단 한 번도 청렴도 상위권인 2등급 이상을 유지한 결과라는 분석이다.
특히 올해 평가에서 전국 75개 시 단위 기초자치단체 중 1등급이 나오지 않아, 당진시는 시 단위에서 가장 우수한 등급을 기록했다.
당진시는 청렴도 제고를 위해 반부패·청렴추진단 운영, 민간지원분야 감사체계 구축, 청렴실천 결의대회, 청렴문자 발송 등 다양한 맞춤형 청렴 시책을 추진해왔다.
오성환 시장은 공직자를 대상으로 직접 청렴 강의를 실시하고 청렴의 중요성을 강조하며 청렴도 향상에 기여했다.
청렴체감도 평가에서 외부 민원인과 내부 직원 모두 2등급(78.6점)을 유지했으며, 청렴노력도 평가에서는 1등급 상승한 2등급(88.5점)을 기록해 최종 2등급(82.6점)을 달성했다.
당진시는 전국 462개 공공기관 평균(80.3점)과 75개 기초자치단체 평균(77.5점)보다 각각 2.3점, 5.1점 높은 점수를 기록했다.
오성환 시장은 “3년 연속 청렴도 2등급을 달성한 것은 공직자와 시민들의 높은 청렴 의식 덕분”이라며, “앞으로도 시민들이 신뢰할 수 있는 청렴한 당진시를 만들기 위해 더욱 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
