참 황당하다. 미국은 우파 트럼프 '영웅의 귀환'이 예고되고 있는 마당에 한국은 우파 흉내를 내던 정부와 여당이 완전 궤멸 위기를 맞고 있다. 한국은 참 이상한 나라다. '우파'라는 말에 경기를 일으킨다. 무슨 노래 가사처럼. 굳이 좌우로 나눈다면 세상의 반은 우파여야 맞다.
'보수'라는 말엔 히스테리가 있다. 이 사회가 그만큼 불편하다는 뜻이다. 그렇게 히스테리 부리는 사람들의 태도가 더 보수적인 경우도 많다. '관행'이란 걸 만들고 자신의 렌트는 잘도 챙긴다. 그러면서 자신을 좌파라고 한다. 이 마당에 좌파를 욕할 것도 없다.
문제는 한국 우파의 전략부재다. 최상목 대대행이 헌법재판관을 임명했다. 대통령 탄핵 가능성이 커졌다. 이대로 가면 한국 우파는 완전 궤멸이다. 우파가 궤멸하면 한국 정치는 '이념 비대칭'이 심화되고 무게추가 완전히 좌파로 쏠리게 된다. 그게 체제 변혁이다. 벌써부터 우파 궤멸 신호가 날아가고 있기에 중간에서 간보던 지식인들은 이반을 준비하고 있을 것이다. 그렇기에 체제 변혁에 가속도가 붙는다.
대통령 탄핵안이 가결되자 수사권도 없는 공수처가 무리하게 체포영장을 청구하고 민주노총이 나서서 대통령을 직접 체포하겠다고 으름장 놓는 게 바로 체제 변혁 가속도를 말해준다. 누차 지적하지만 한국 우파의 가장 큰 문제는 적전분열이다. 지지를 얻지 못하는 판에 분열의 저주가 내려진 것이다. 그 분열의 저주는 시작된 지 오래다. 왜 그렇게 분열할까? 좌파와 달리 우파는 이념이 없기 때문이다. 이윤 추구 목적의 협회처럼 운영되기에 늘 분열과 분란의 소지가 크다. 그리고 한번 불꽃이 튀면 순식간에 쪼개지고 만다.
이념과 지향점이 없기에 '도덕'과 '국민 눈높이'가 가치기준이 된다. 그러니 좌고우면 우왕좌왕 좌충우돌 할 수밖에 없다. '도덕'은 기본이다. 그리고 '도덕'을 지키는 이가 '도덕'을 말해야 의미가 있다. 지금 좌파 정당 민주당은 도덕은 고사하고 상도덕도 없다. 한국이 늘 혼란스러운건 도덕에 대한 자각이 없어서가 아니다. 오히려 반대다. 너도 나도 입으로만 도덕을 외치기 때문이다.
윤석열 정부 들어서서 한국 좌파가 제기한 문제의 초점은 '도덕'이었다. 여당 내 대통령 반대파는 좌파 주장에 편승해 '도덕'을 '국민 눈높이'로 치환했다. 솔직히 분열은 존재하는 게 맞다. 그게 민주주의일 수도 있다. 하지만 여당 내 분열은 여당 붕괴를 가져오고 있고 한국 내 좌우 분열은 한국의 시스템을 붕괴시키고 있다. 그게 문제다.
봐야 할 건 시스템이 건재 하느냐 그렇지 못하느냐 여부다. 지금 한국 시스템은 누가 봐도 문제가 있다. 입법 권력 민주당이 하는 걸 보면 한국은 법치 국가도 아니다. 그와 같은 좌파 민주당의 패악질을 보고도 국민의힘은 지지를 얻지 못한다. 왜 그럴까? 지지율을 말할 것도 없이 한국 보수는 인기가 없다. 어느 개인의 인기일 뿐이다.
한국 정치를 관찰할 때마다 이해하기 어려운 게 있다. 한국의 우파 정당이 서민들로부터 지지를 받지 못한다는 거다. 미국은 반대다. 서민들이 공화당을 지지한다. 트럼프도 한때 악마화됐다. 하지만 미국 서민은 트럼프를 택했다.
트럼프는 미국 서민들과 중산층을 향해 '일자리와 소득'를 지켜주겠다고 약속한 격이다. 국민의힘은 한국 서민들과 중산층을 향해 뭘 약속해줄 수 있나. 그게 없다. 정치 지향점이 분명치 못하다. 좌파는 황당하다. 그 지향점이 또렷이 '민중'에 꽂혔다가 '사람들'로 확장한다. '사람이 먼저'라는 말은 전형적인 선동이다. 국민 모두가 사람이다. 그런 표어에 우파는 당황한다.
과연 사람 말고 무엇이 먼저일까? 우파 진영 내부에 논란이 커진다. 자본이 먼저일까? ㅋㅋ
우파는 구체적이고 명확해질 필요가 있다. 그렇다고 사람이 먼저가 아니라고 하면 안 된다.

사람이 먼저인 건 맞다. 하지만 그런 소리는 정당이 할 소리가 아니다. 우파는 '성실한 사람이 먼저'라고 해야 한다. 노동자가 먼저가 아니라 성실한 노동자가 먼저인 것이다. 한국 좌파는 오지랖이 넓어서 남의 나라 민중까지 같이 걱정한다. 반면 한국 우파는 대한민국 한국인 편이고 땀흘려 일하는 납세자 편이어야 한다. 그것이 기본이다.
국민에게 국민의힘은 기득권 정당이 아니라 기회와 가치를 창출하는 정당임을 알려야 한다. yslee1992@kunsan.ac.kr

Korea is a really strange country. The word 'right-wing' makes people cry. It's like the lyrics of a song. If we divide the world into left and right, half of the world should be right-wing.
There is hysteria in the word 'conservative'. It means that this society is that uncomfortable. In many cases, the attitudes of those who are so hysterical are even more conservative. They create 'customs' and take care of their own rents. And yet they call themselves left-wing. There's no need to criticize the left-wing in this situation.
The problem is the lack of strategy in Korea's right-wing. Acting President Choi Sang-mok appointed a Constitutional Court judge. The possibility of the president being impeached has increased. If things continue this way, the Korean right wing will be completely destroyed. If the right wing is destroyed, the 'ideological asymmetry' in Korean politics will deepen and the weight will shift completely to the left wing. That is a systemic transformation. Since the signals of the destruction of the right wing have already been flying, intellectuals who have been watching in the middle will be preparing to defect. That is why the systemic transformation is accelerating.

Judging from what the Democratic Party of Korea, the legislative power, is doing, Korea is not even a country governed by the rule of law.
