충남 태안군이 지역소멸 위기 극복을 위해 ‘태안형 아이 더드림 프로젝트’를 시행한다고 16일 밝혔다.
이 프로젝트는 태안에서 태어난 모든 아이에게 정부 및 군비를 포함해 누적 1억 원을 초과하는 예산을 지원하는 내용을 담고 있다.
아동에게 지급되는 예산 중 정부·광역예산은 부모급여, 아동수당, 보육료, 교육비 지원 등으로 인당 누적 7370만 원이며, 군은 여기에 ‘태안 아이 더드림 수당’ 지급 등 자체 시책을 통해 인당 누적 2900만 원을 추가 지원할 계획이다.
올해부터 시행되는 ‘태안 아이 더드림 수당’은 관내 3~11세 아동에게 월 20만 원 상당의 바우처를 지급하는 것이 주요 내용이다.
이 사업은 어린이집 급·간식비 지원, AI 기술 활용 아이 성장 지원 등과 함께 태안형 아이 더드림 프로젝트의 핵심 사업으로 자리 잡고 있다.
이번 정책은 가세로 군수의 민선8기 공약인 ‘육아지원 확대’의 일환으로 저출생 문제 해소를 위해 추진되고 있다.
군은 당초 올해 초부터 시행할 예정이었으나, 대상자를 3~18세로 확대할 필요성이 제기되어 현재 시행이 보류된 상태다.
대상자 수에 따라 필요한 예산이 56억 원에서 124억 원으로 증가할 것으로 예상되며, 이에 따라 군은 의회와 적극 협의해 조속한 시행을 도모하겠다고 밝혔다.
태안형 아이 더드림 프로젝트에 포함된 기타 사업으로는 1인가구 지원, 영유아 급·간식비 지원, 신혼부부 주거안정 지원 등이 있으며, 군은 이들 사업을 통해 저출생 및 고령화 시대의 지역소멸 위기를 극복하기 위한 다양한 노력을 이어갈 예정이다.
