충청남도 서산시는 어촌의 정주 환경 개선과 풍요로운 어촌 조성을 위해 다양한 행정적 노력을 기울이고 있다.
시는 올해 어업 경쟁력 강화와 어촌 생활 여건 향상을 위한 주요 사업으로 어촌신활력증진사업, 제4차 도서정비사업, 수산물 명품화 사업 등을 추진할 계획이다.
특히, 서산시는 2023년과 2024년 연속으로 해양수산부 주관의 어촌신활력증진사업 공모에 선정되어, 지곡, 팔봉, 대산 등 3개 권역에 총 250억 원을 투자할 예정이다.
이 사업은 어촌 인구 유입을 위한 주거 기반과 경제 구조 마련, 어촌 자원을 활용한 수익 시스템 구축, 도시형 어촌 생활권 조성을 지원하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.
올해 대산읍 웅도항 권역에서는 선착장 안전 보강공사와 공동작업장이 준공될 예정이며, 지곡과 팔봉 권역은 기본계획 수립을 시작으로 본격 착수된다.
지곡 권역의 왕산항에는 귀어인이 체류하고 생활할 수 있는 주거 및 의료, 문화, 복지 공간이 조성되며, 중왕항에는 어업인 작업 공간이 마련될 계획이다.
팔봉 권역에서는 가로림 행복스테이션과 귀어인 체류 공간인 365쉼표 하우스, 여가 공간인 가로림 활력 공간이 조성될 예정이다.
또한, 낙후된 도서 지역 내 주민 복지 향상을 위한 제4차 도서정비사업은 4개 유인도를 대상으로 총 23개 사업이 진행되고 있으며, 올해 고파도 능선샛길 복원, 웅도 해안탐방로 조성, 우도 호안도로 노면포장 등의 사업이 완료될 예정이다. 웅도 농어촌도로 확포장 사업은 2027년까지 마무리될 계획이다.
