최상목 대통령 권한대행 경제부총리 겸 기획재정부 장관이 28일 스콧 베센트 미 신임 재무장관과 첫 화상면담을 갖고 "상호관세 등 미 정책결정 과정서 한국의 미 경제에 대한 기여를 고려하는 등 관심을 가져달라"고 주문했다.

최 대행은 "견고한 경제시스템과 정부의 안정적 국정운영을 바탕으로 금융·외환시장 변동성이 빠르게 완화되는 등 한국 경제가 강한 회복력을 보이고 있다"며 "국가신용등급 유지 등 국제사회에서도 한국 경제·정부의 경제 상황 안정을 위한 신속 대응을 높이 평가하고 있다"고 전했다.
