세종시가 시민의 안전 의식을 높이고 지역 사회에 안전 문화를 정착시키기 위해 오는 14일부터 18일까지 ‘세종시민 안전 주간’을 운영한다고 밝혔다.
‘세종시민 안전 주간’은 최근 증가하는 다양한 안전사고에 대비하고, 기관과 시민이 함께 안전 의식을 고취할 수 있는 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.
특히, 올해 처음으로 시행되는 ‘세종시민 안전 주간’은 4월 16일 ‘국민안전의 날’과 연계하여 진행된다. ‘국민안전의 날’은 2014년 세월호 참사를 계기로 재난과 사고로 인한 희생자들을 추모하고, 전 국민의 안전 의식을 높이기 위해 2015년부터 매년 지정된 국가 기념일이다.
세종시는 이번 안전 주간 동안 그동안 각 부서와 기관에서 개별적으로 진행되던 캠페인, 교육, 훈련, 점검 등의 안전 관련 활동을 통합하여 진행할 계획이다. ‘세종사랑, 함께 지키는 안전’을 주제로 세종 전역에서 안전 관련 체험, 점검, 캠페인 등 다양한 프로그램이 동시에 펼쳐질 예정이다.
주요 프로그램으로는 제11회 세종 어린이 안전교실 ,안전보안관 안전 한바퀴 캠페인 및 생활 속 안전수칙 홍보 ,자전거 및 PM 안전 교육 .자율방재단 재난 대응 교육 등 총 33개 프로그램이 포함된다.
고성진 시민안전실장은 “올해 처음 시행되는 세종시민 안전 주간은 시민들이 일상 속에서 안전을 되돌아보고, 스스로 사고를 예방할 수 있는 문화를 만들어가는 중요한 계기가 될 것”이라며, “시민 여러분께서도 안전에 대한 지속적인 관심과 경각심을 가져주시길 바란다”고 강조했다.
