청년층의 지역 정착과 자립을 체계적으로 지원하기 위한 충남 부여군의 행보가 속도를 내고 있다.
군은 오는 2025년부터 2028년까지 4년간 총 200억 원 규모의 청년기금을 단계적으로 조성할 계획이다. 연간 50억 원을 목표로 하는 이번 기금은 부여군 출연금과 기금 운용에 따른 수익 등을 통해 재원을 마련하게 된다. 정부 지원에서 소외된 청년 정책 영역을 보완하고, 부여 지역 특성에 맞춘 청년 맞춤형 사업을 중점적으로 발굴·추진한다는 구상이다.
지원 분야는 청년 일자리 창출과 창업, 주거 안정, 복지·문화 활동, 청년 정책 참여 확대 등으로 폭넓게 구성됐다. 특히 스마트팜과 지역 특화 산업을 기반으로 한 창업 공간 제공, 빈집을 활용한 주거 대책, 가족돌봄 청년 지원, 고립된 청년층을 위한 문화 참여 기회 확대 등이 포함된다.
이와 관련해 부여군은 지난달 30일 군청 서동브리핑실에서 ‘제1회 청년기금 운용심의위원회’를 열고 본격적인 기금 운용에 돌입했다. 이날 회의에서는 위촉직 및 당연직 위원들에 대한 위촉장 수여와 함께 부위원장 선출, 향후 기금 조성과 운영 방향에 대한 심도 있는 논의가 이뤄졌다.
운용심의위원회는 부군수가 위원장을 맡고, 총 12명(당연직 3명·위촉직 9명)으로 구성됐다. 이들은 2025년부터 2년간 활동하면서 매년 기금 운영계획 수립과 결산안 심의 등을 통해 기금의 투명성과 효율성을 높이는 역할을 수행한다.
