김해시보건소는 제38회 세계 금연의 날을 맞아 12일 김해시청 입구에서 출근하는 직원들을 대상으로 아침 출근길 금연 캠페인을 실시했다고 밝혔다.
세계 금연의 날은 1987년 세계보건기구(WHO)가 담배 연기 없는 사회를 만들기 위해 매년 5월 31일을 기념일로 지정해 흡연예방 및 금연문화 확산을 위한 홍보 캠페인을 하는 것으로, 이날 캠페인은 ‘담배 연기 없는 건강한 김해’를 목표로, 출근하는 직원들에게 금연의 중요성과 흡연의 폐해에 대한 경각심을 널리 알리고, 금연 동참을 유도하기 위해 마련됐다.
아울러 시는 5월 한달 동안 ▲관내 초·중·고 릴레이 등굣길 캠페인 ▲관내 초등학교대상 도전! 금연골든벨! ▲금연의 날 기념 5월 걷기 마일리지 워크온 챌린지 ▲관내 유치원 및 어린이집 대상 미취학 새싹 흡연 예방 교실 ▲전문강사가 운영하는 청소년 대상 흡연 예방 교육 ▲이동 금연 클리닉 ▲ 지역·대학축제 찾아가는 금연 홍보·체험관 운영 등 다양한 시민 참여·홍보 캠페인을 전개해 금연 환경 및 흡연자의 금연 실천 분위기를 조성하고 SNS 및 홈페이지, 보도자료, 전광판 등을 통해 금연 주제 포스터 및 공익광고 등을 게재·송출한다.
또한, 오는 31일에는 연지공원 야외무대에서 김해시 명예 금연 홍보대사 위촉 등 세계 금연의 날 기념행사를 진행할 예정이다.

김해시는 삼안동 자연보호환경보존협의회에서 주최한 제21회 신어산 철쭉축제가 지난 11일 신어산 일원에서 성황리에 개최됐다고 12일 밝혔다.

다채로운 프로그램으로 많은 지역 주민과 관광객들이 함께 즐긴 축제 개막식은 삼안동 풍물단의 신명 나는 풍악을 시작으로 아랑고고 장구공연과 김명선 등 초청가수 축하공연이 이어졌다. 개막식 후에는 삼안동의 번영을 기원하는 고사가 마련됐다.
2부 행사로 신어산 정상 부근 철쭉 군락지에서 철쭉 묘목 심기 체험과 바람개비 만들기 체험, 환경보호 쓰레기 줍기 행사 등이 진행됐다.
김동수 자연보호환경보존협의회장은 “지금의 풍성한 철쭉 군락지 조성까지 오랜 세월 가꾸고 보살핀 주민 모두의 노력 덕분에 이렇게 아름다운 축제를 열 수 있었다“며 “자연을 사랑하고 보호하는 마음으로 지역사회와 함께 신어산을 지켜나가겠다”고 말했다.
