전북자치도 고창군이 고향사랑기부금 1호 사업으로 '동학농민혁명 기념관'을 개관했다.
고창군은 혁명 성지의 자긍심 고취 및 접근성과 활용도를 높이기 위해 (구)신왕초등학교 부지에 있던 '동학농민혁명 홍보관'을 전봉준 장군 동상 인근으로 이전ㆍ리모델링해 '고창 동학농민혁명 기념관' 개관식을 갖고 운영체제로 전환했다고 15일 밝혔다.
그동안 (구)신왕초등학교 부지에 있던 '동학농민혁명 홍보관'을 이전하고 '고창 동학농민혁명 기념관'으로 명칭을 변경해 지역 정체성과 역사적 상징성을 끌어 올렸다.
