브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 폭염이 이어지며 에어컨 등 냉방 가전 수요가 급증하는 가운데 정부가 고효율 가전제품 구매 시, 구매 금액의 10%를 돌려주는 정책을 시행하고 있다.
환급 지원은 위축된 소비 심리를 회복하고 에너지 절약까지 함께 달성하기 위한 조치로, 소비자들의 가계 부담을 덜어줄 것으로 기대된다.
1인당 최대 30만 원 환급
산업통상자원부는 지난 7월 4일 TV, 냉장고, 세탁기, 에어컨 등 생활에 밀접한 11가지 가전의 에너지 소비효율 1등급(일부 품목 2등급)인 환급 대상 가전제품에 대해 구매 금액의 10%를 환급하겠다고 밝힌 바 있다.
이후 에너지공단 홈페이지, 가전·유통기업 고객센터 등과 협력해 환급사업에 대한 안내를 진행해왔다.
으뜸효율 가전제품 환급사업은 총 2671억원의 예산이 투입되며 1인당 최대 환급 한도는 30만 원이다. 지난 4일 이후로 구매한 국민에게 구매가의 10%를 환급해준다.
실제로 서울 시내 대형 가전 매장에는 ‘10% 환급’ 안내문이 곳곳에 부착돼 제품 홍보에 열을 올리고 있다.
매장 관계자는 “환급 스티커가 붙은 1등급 인증 모델이면 모두 환급이 가능하다”며 “에어컨뿐 아니라 최근부터 효율 등급 관리가 적용된 식기세척기도 포함된다”고 설명했다.
1등급 제품이 없는 유선 진공청소기는 2등급 제품까지 환급 대상이다.

소비자 “성능 같다면 1등급 선택해 지원금 받는다”
이번 환급 정책으로 소비자들 사이에서는 가전 교체 시 고효율 제품을 선택하는 수요가 늘고 있다. 정부 지원을 받아 제품을 싸게 살 수 있을 뿐 더러 효율높은 제품을 사용함으로써 전기세가 줄어드는 효과까지 얻을 수 있기 때문이다.
가전매장에서 만난 한 시민은 “기왕이면 성능이 같다면 에너지 효율 등급이 높은 제품을 사서 돈을 돌려받는 게 낫다”면서 “경제적 혜택도 있고 환경에도 도움이 된다”고 말했다.
환급 신청, 8월 13일부터 접수…절차는?
구매한 제품에 대한 환급 신청은 오는 8월 13일부터 가능하다. 산업부는 다음달 13일 신청페이지를 열고 신속히 환급이 개시될 수 있도록 철저히 준비하겠다는 계획이다.
신청을 하기 위해선 본인 확인 제품 구매 계약서, 영수증, 에너지 소비효율 등급 라벨, 제품 시리얼 넘버 등이 필요하다. 신청 서류를 제출하면 확인을 거친 뒤 8월 20일부터 순차적으로 환급금이 지급된다.
산업부는 소비자 편의를 위해 ‘으뜸효율 가전제품 환급사업 종합안내센터(https://으뜸효율.kr/)’도 개소해 운영한다.
안내센터는 콜센터를 통한 전화 상담은 물론, 가전사별 환급 대상 제품 정보도 제공한다. ‘으뜸효율’ 홈페이지와 카카오톡 채널을 통해서도 신청 방법과 대상 제품 정보를 안내받을 수 있다.
삼성전자, LG전자 등 일부 브랜드의 가전 구독 서비스로 고효율 제품을 구매한 경우에도 동일한 환급 혜택을 받을 수 있다.
소상공인 고효율기기 지원사업 최대 160만원 지원

아울러 한국전력공사에선 소상공인을 대상으로 고효율기기 지원사업도 시행하고 있다.
한전이 운영 중인 소상공인 고효율기기 지원사업 사이트(https://en-ter.co.kr/ac/main/main.do)에서 신청할 수 있다.
에너지 효율 1등급의 냉난방기, 냉장고, 세탁기, 건조기 등 4가지 제품을 신품으로 구매한 경우, 부가세를 제외한 구매가격의 40%를 지원해준다. 지원한도는 제품마다 다르며 1사업자당 최대 160만원까지 지원된다.
올해 사업예산은 379억원이나 예산이 조기 소진돼 사업은 조기 종료됐다. 다만 취소처리 된 잔여 예산에 한해 오는 7월 23일부터 추가 접수가 선착순으로 가능하다.
