전북자치도 전주시가 자동차 공회전 제한 지역을 현실 여건에 맞춰 재정비했다.
전주시는 교통 여건과 오염물질 배출량 및 취약계층 보호에 중점을 둔 자동차 공회전 제한 지역을 전면 재정비해 지난 1일부터 새롭게 적용ㆍ운용하고 있다고 4일 밝혔다.
버스터미널과 대형차고지 등 기존 14곳의 제한 지역은 그대로 유지된다.
시민들의 건강권 보호와 대기오염 방지를 위해 오염물질 배출량이 많거나 취약계층 보호가 필요한 ▲ 대규모점포(10곳) ▲ 의료기관(17곳) 등 총 84곳이 제한 지역으로 신규 지정됐다.
현재 폐업 또는 이전ㆍ미운영 상태이거나 산정된 대기오염물질 배출량이 적은 차고지 등 기존 128곳은 제한 지역 지정이 해제됐다.
신규로 지정된 지역에는 홍보와 안내판 설치ㆍ행정 계도를 통해 운전자의 자발적 참여를 유도하고 내년 1월 1일부터 단속이 이뤄진다.
