경기북부보훈지청(지청장 손순욱)이 광복 80주년을 기념해 독립운동가 후손들을 직접 찾아 위문하는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.
14일 손순욱 지청장은 나라를 위해 헌신한 선열들의 공적을 기리고 후손들에게 감사와 존경의 마음을 전달하기 위해 임시정부 요인 3명의 후손을 직접 방문했다.
이번 위문 대상자는 이시영 선생의 손자 이종문 씨, 지청천 장군의 손녀 지중남 씨, 이희경 선생의 외손자 김경호 씨 등 3명이다.
조국 광복을 위해 헌신한 세 분의 독립운동가
건국훈장 대한민국장을 받은 이시영 선생은 을사조약 체결 이후 비밀결사 신민회를 조직해 구국운동을 전개했다.

경술국치 후에는 가족 50여 명과 함께 만주로 망명하여 경학사와 신흥강습소 설립을 주도하며 독립군 양성에 힘썼다.
대한민국임시정부에서는 법무총장, 재무총장, 국무위원 등을 역임하며 광복의 그날까지 활동했다.
건국훈장 대통령장을 받은 지청천 장군은 신흥무관학교 교성대장으로 재직하다 1920년 김좌진 장군과 함께 대한의용군을 조직하여 여단장으로 활약했다.

이후 정의부와 한국독립당을 창설하고 독립군총사령관, 광복군총사령관으로 활동하며 무장독립운동을 이끌었다.
건국훈장 독립장을 받은 이희경 선생은 하와이에서 병원을 개설해 애국지사들을 지원하고 광복운동을 전개했다.

1919년에는 임시정부 의료기관인 재상해대한적십자회를 조직하고 초대회장을 맡았으며, 임시정부 의정원 군무위원장과 외무차장 등을 지내며 독립운동 외교 활동에 힘썼다.
손순욱 지청장은 "광복 80주년을 맞아 후손분들을 직접 찾아 뵙고 감사 인사를 전할 수 있어 뜻깊다"며 "선열들의 고귀한 희생과 헌신을 기억하고 계승하는 데 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
8월의 6·25전쟁영웅 이운산 중령 선정
같은 날 경기북부보훈지청은 '이달의 6·25전쟁영웅'으로 선정된 이운산 중령의 선정패를 그의 아들 이동섭 씨에게 전달했다.

이운산 중령은 1950년 6·25전쟁 당시 제6사단 2연대 3대대장으로서 지연전을 수행하며 공세적으로 적에게 큰 타격을 입혔다.
특히 1950년 8월 26일 신녕지구 전투에서 탁월한 지휘와 용맹으로 전공을 세웠으나, 철수 도중 아군의 지뢰로 전사하는 안타까운 최후를 맞았다.
손순욱 지청장은 "이운산 중령께서 보여주신 숭고한 희생정신은 오늘의 자유와 평화를 지탱하는 버팀목"이라며 "그 헌신을 잊지 않고 후세에 널리 알리겠다"고 전했다.

During the Korean War in 1950, Lieutenant Colonel Lee Un-san, as commander of the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Regiment, 6th Division, conducted delaying operations and inflicted significant damage on the enemy through offensive tactics.
He distinguished himself with outstanding leadership and bravery in the Battle of Sinyeong on August 26, 1950, but tragically met his death when he was struck by a friendly landmine during the retreat.
