브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 신세계그룹은 극심한 가뭄으로 생활용수와 식수 확보에 어려움을 겪고 있는 강릉 지역 주민들을 돕기 위해 생수 27만 병을 긴급 지원한다고 3일 밝혔다.
이번 지원 물품은 사회복지공동모금회와 한국사회복지협의회를 통해 강릉시청에 전달되며, 가뭄 피해를 입은 취약계층과 생활용수가 필요한 가구에 전달할 계획이다.
이마트는 강릉지역에 2L 생수 20만 병을 지원한다. 3일에는 가뭄 피해가 심각한 지역을 중심으로 생수 2만 병을 선지원하고, 10일까지 순차적으로 분할해 지원할 계획이다.
스타벅스도 이번 기부에 동참한다. 강릉 지역의 가뭄 피해 상황을 고려해 생수 7만5000병을 지원하며, 거동이 불편한 장애인과 노인 등 취약계층에게 직접 생수를 전달하는 데 집중한다. 강릉 지역 스타벅스 매장 관리 담당자와 점장들이 생수 전달에 직접 참여하고, 자발적인 봉사활동에도 나서며 지역사회 지원에 힘을 보탤 예정이다.
