지난 19일 경주엑스포공원에서 열린 '2025 인터내셔널 스마일 페스타'에 참가한 동국대 AIMS(ASEAN International Mobility for Students) 초청교환학생들이 공연과 문화 홍보 부스 운영에서 탁월한 성과를 거뒀다고 동국대가 밝혔다. APEC 정상회의 기념행사로 열린 이번 축제는 APEC 회원국을 비롯한 전 세계 유학생들이 함께하는 대표적인 문화 교류 행사다.
특히, 필리핀에서 온 AIMS 초청교환학생 5명은 '글로벌 스마일 콘테스트'에 참가해 화려한 댄스 퍼포먼스를 선보이며 관객들의 뜨거운 박수갈채를 받았다. 이들은 수준 높은 기량으로 심사위원들의 마음을 사로잡아 최우수상 수상의 영예를 안았다.
또한, 인도네시아에서 온 학생 2명은 '세계문화홍보관' 부스를 운영하며 현장을 찾은 시민들에게 인도네시아의 전통 의상을 직접 입어보고 문화를 체험할 기회를 제공했다. 이들의 활발한 활동은 관람객들의 큰 호응을 얻으며 양국 간 문화 이해를 높이는 데 기여했다.
동국대 WISE캠퍼스 관계자는 “이번 행사는 우리 학생들이 국제적인 경험을 쌓고 글로벌 역량을 키우는 소중한 계기가 되었다”며, “학생들의 적극적인 참여가 동국대학교의 국제화 역량과 지역사회 연계 성과를 알리는 데 큰 도움이 됐다”고 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 호텔관광경영학전공 'CAMPUS Asia-AIMS' 사업단 주관으로 진행됐으며, 학생들의 글로벌 역량 강화를 위한 교류 프로그램의 일환으로 추진됐다.
