기자회견은 국가보안법폐지법률안을 대표발의한 진보당 윤종오 의원, 더불어민주당 민형배 의원, 조국혁신당 김준형 의원과 국가보안법폐지 국민행동 및 923개 단체가 공동주최하였다.
