16일 전북도에 따르면, 현재 태양광 3GWㆍ해상풍력 4GW 등 총 7GW 규모의 대규모 재생에너지 발전단지 조성이 추진돼 새만금은 RE100 산업단지 조성에 최적의 조건을 보유하고 있다.
2029년에는 수상 태양광 1.2GW를 RE100 기업에 본격 공급할 수 있도록 새만금 산단이 조성 중으로 단기간 내 가시적 성과 창출이 가능하다.
전력 공급 측면에서도 새만금은 탄탄한 기반을 갖추고 있다.
1.5GW 규모의 전력공급 능력을 확보해 첨단기업의 전력 수요를 충분히 충족할 수 있다.
서해안권과 수도권을 연결하는 광역 전력망과 연계도 용이해 재생에너지 발전원과 기업 간 계통 연결에 유리한 입지를 자랑한다.
