영덕군은 앞서 경상북도 환동해지역본부가 주관한 시·군 평가에서 어선어업, 양식어업, 유통·가공, 어업대전환 등 4개 부문을 대상으로 한 종합 심사 결과, 수산물 유통·가공 기반 강화와 어업 혁신 추진, 어촌경제 회복력 제고 노력을 높이 평가받았다. 그 결과 유통·가공 부문과 어업대전환 부문 등 2개 분야에서 수상하는 성과를 거뒀다.
특히 지난 3월 말 발생한 경북 산불 피해에 대응해 어촌어항재생 분야 공모사업을 적극 추진하며 대규모 국·도비를 확보한 점이 주요 수상 요인으로 꼽힌다. 영덕군은 축산면 경정권역에 100억 원, 경정1·3리에 76억 원 등 총 176억 원 규모의 사업비를 확보하며 수산행정 발전과 지역 회복에 기여했다.
영덕군 해양수산과는 이번 성과를 행정적 평가에만 그치지 않고 군민과 함께 나누기 위해 시상금 전액을 관내 복지 사각지대에 놓인 취약계층을 위한 성금으로 기부하기로 결정했다.
정제훈 해양수산과장은 “이번 수산행정 평가 우수 지자체 선정은 행정의 성과를 넘어, 어려운 여건 속에서도 현장을 지켜온 어업인과 수산기업 관계자, 그리고 묵묵히 함께해 온 직원 모두의 노력이 만들어낸 결과”라며 “그 의미 있는 성과를 군민과 함께 나누고자 희망2026 나눔 캠페인에 동참하게 됐다”고 밝혔다.

Yeongdeok County secured a total of KRW 17.6 billion in project funding, including KRW 10 billion for the Gyeongjeong district in Chuksan-myeon and KRW 7.6 billion for Gyeongjeong 1-3-ri, contributing to the development of fisheries administration and regional recovery.
The Yeongdeok County Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Division decided to share this achievement beyond administrative evaluation with the county residents, donating the entire award money to vulnerable groups in the county's welfare system.

It is the result of the hard work of fishermen, fisheries industry officials, and all employees who have worked tirelessly despite difficult circumstances.
