전북경찰이 지난해 12월 1일부터 연말연시 음주운전 특별 단속을 실시하고 있는 가운데 6주간 총 271건이 적발됐다.
12일 전북경찰청에 따르면 음주운전 적발 유형은 ▲ 면허취소 141건 ▲ 면허정지 117건 ▲ PM 7건 ▲ 자전거 6건 등으로 집계됐다.
음주 운전 교통사고 사망자는 단 1명도 없었으며 전년 같은 기간 대비 사고는 –25.0%(36→27건)ㆍ부상자는 –52.9%(70→33명) 감소 효과로 이어졌다.
경찰은 1월에도 신년회 등 술자리가 잦을 것으로 보고 출근길 불시 단속과 주간 단속을 이어간다는 계획이다.
