지원 대상은 지역 내 거주 65세 이상 어르신 가운데 국민기초생활보장 수급자와 의료급여 수급자, 차상위계층을 비롯해 기초연금 수급자 중 성인용 보행기가 필요하다고 인정되는 어르신이다.
대상자로 선정되면 보행기 구입 시 1인당 최대 20만 원 이내에서 실비를 지원받을 수 있다.
이번 사업은 고령 어르신의 일상 이동 부담을 줄이고 낙상 사고를 예방하는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
군은 보행 보조 수단을 확보함으로써 병원 방문과 장보기, 경로당 이용 등 일상생활 참여도를 높이고, 사회적 고립 예방과 건강 유지에도 실질적인 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
