원광대학교병원이 체계적이고 전문적인 정신건강 증진 서비스를 제공한다.
20일 원광대병원에 따르면 올해부터 익산시 정신건강복지센터와 중독관리통합지원센터 수탁 운영을 골자로 최근 익산시와 업무협약을 체결했다.
원광대병원은 이번 협약으로 향후 3년간 두 기관의 수탁 운영에 따른 총 72억 원의 국고와 도ㆍ시비 예산을 지원받게 됐다.
특히 정신건강 증진을 위한 최적의 의료서비스와 ▲ 정신질환 편견 해소 ▲ 정신질환자 권익 증진 ▲ 생명 존중 문화 조성 ▲ 자살 예방을 위한 다양한 사업을 수행한다.
그동안 정신건강복지센터를 운영한 원광대병원은 익산 시민의 정신건강을 위해 노력한 부분을 높게 평가받아 5년 연속(2020~2024년) 보건복지부 장관상 수상ㆍ2년 연속(2021~2022년) 민간 위탁 사무 평가 S등급을 획득하는 등 우수한 성과를 거뒀다.
정신건강 증진 문화 조성ㆍ인식 개선 활동ㆍ아동 및 청소년 정신건강 증진ㆍ지역사회 정신건강 기관 통합서비스 협력체계 구축ㆍ생애 주기별 대상군에 대한 정신질환 예방과 증진에 총력을 기울여 왔다.

지난 2023년 개소한 중독관리통합지원센터는 알코올ㆍ도박ㆍ약물(마약)ㆍ인터넷 등 4대 중독 예방을 위해 중독 예방 상담 및 교육 사업을 운영해 왔다.
병원 치료 이후 퇴원한 중독질환자들이 지역사회에서 건강한 일상생활을 유지할 수 있도록 의료기관과 긴밀한 협력을 통한 회복지원 안전망 구축에 앞장섰다.
