특히 중구는 각종 공모사업 19개에 선정돼 국비·시비 45억 원을 확보했으며, 여기에 특별교부금과 특별교부세 약 71억 원까지 더해 총 116억 원 규모의 재원을 마련했다. 이렇게 확보된 예산은 복지·관광·도시환경·상권 활성화 등 다양한 현장 사업에 투입될 예정이다.
재난안전과 보건의료 분야에서도 괄목할 만한 성과가 이어졌다. 중구는 국가재난안전관리 유공으로 행정안전부 장관상을 수상했고, 재난응급의료 종합훈련대회에서는 전국 1위를 차지했다. 심뇌혈관질환 예방관리 사업은 4년 연속 최우수 평가를 받으며 예방 중심 보건정책의 모범으로 평가받고 있다.
