【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군은 27일 광혜원면 광혜원리 373-1번지 일원에서 ‘광혜원 개방형 다목적체육관’의 준공식을 개최했다.
이날 준공식에는 송기섭 진천군수를 비롯해 이재명 진천군의회 의장, 군의원, 관계기관 단체장, 지역 주민 등 150여 명이 참석했다.
본 시설은 지난 2019년 10월 국민체육진흥기금 공모 사업에 선정되며 첫발을 뗐으며, 2022년 12월 착공 이후 총사업비 170억 원을 투입, 약 3년 만에 결실을 보게 됐다.
시설 규모는 부지면적 1만 7,635.8㎡, 전체면적 2,890.44㎡이며 △연장 25m 6레인 규모의 수영장 △배드민턴·농구 등이 가능한 다목적 실내체육관 △이용객 편의를 위한 주차장, 진입도로 등을 갖추고 있다.
김영철 군 체육진흥과장은 “이번 체육관 준공으로 상대적으로 체육 인프라가 부족했던 광혜원 지역에 수준 높은 스포츠 서비스를 제공할 수 있게 됐다”며 “광혜원 다목적체육관이 주민들의 건강 증진의 거점 시설이자 지역 커뮤니티 활성화의 장이 될 수 있도록 쾌적한 시설 운영과 인프라 추가 확충에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
