[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 창녕군 성낙인 군수가 부곡온천 시설 현대화 방안 건의를 위해 27일 중앙부처를 직접 방문했다.
이날 내년도 주요 현안 사업에 대한 국비 예산 확보와 올해 상반기 특별교부세 지원도 함께 건의했다.
성 군수는 이날 행정안전부 자연재난대응국과 재난관리정책국을 차례로 방문해 길곡면 마천지구 풍수해생활권 종합정비사업 306억 원과 이방면 석리 자연재해위험 개선지구 정비사업 381억 원, 남지교 북단사거리 판넬식보강토 옹벽정비 21억 원의 국비 지원 필요성과 시급성을 설명하고 적극적인 협조를 요청했다.
이어 지방교부세 및 특별교부세를 총괄하는 지방행정국을 방문해 인구소멸지역인 군의 어려운 현실을 설명하고, 필수 행정서비스 유지와 지역 현안 해결을 위한 지방교부세의 안정적 확보와 특별교부세 지원을 건의했다.
균형발전진흥과에서는 과거 부곡하와이 폐업 이후 위기를 겪었던 부곡온천이 지속적인 시설개선과 적극적인 스포츠 마케팅을 통해 지난해 연간 방문객 300만 명을 돌파하며 새로운 전성기를 맞이하고 있다는 점을 강조했다.
이러한 성과가 일회성에 그치지 않고 지속 가능한 지역 성장으로 이어질 수 있도록 부곡온천 경쟁력 강화를 위한 정부 차원의 정책적·재정적 지원 마련을 촉구했다.
성낙인 군수는 “어려운 재정 여건 속에서도 자연재해 예방을 통한 군민 안전확보와 지역 관광자원 개발을 통한 성장동력 확보는 군정의 최우선 과제”라며 “앞으로도 중앙부처와의 적극적인 협조를 통해 창녕 발전을 위한 국비 확보에 총력을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편 창녕군은 이번 방문을 시작으로 중앙부처 예산편성 단계부터 국회 예산안 심의 과정까지 지속적인 건의를 이어가며 정부예산 확보에 행정력을 집중할 방침이다.
