[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 함안군과 창녕군이 경상남도민체전 역사상 최초로 추진되는 ‘군부 공동 개최’의 성공적인 출발을 알렸다.
양 군은 28일 오후 3시 창녕문화예술회관에서 ‘제65회 경상남도민체육대회 공동 준비위원회 발대식’을 개최하고, 330만 경남도민의 화합을 이끌 성공적인 대회 개최를 위한 본격적인 준비 체제에 돌입했다.
이날 발대식에는 조근제 함안군수와 성낙인 창녕군수를 비롯해 양 군의회 의장 및 체육회장, 공동 준비위원 등 200여 명이 참석했다.
공동 준비위원회는 양 군 각계각층의 대표들로 구성됐으며, 향후 대회의 성공적인 개최를 위해 행정과 민간의 협력 강화, 대회 준비 전반에 대한 지원, 범군민 자율참여 분위기 조성 등의 역할을 수행하게 된다.
조근제 함안군수는 대회사에서 “이번 도민체육대회는 군부 최초이자 공동 개최라는 점에서 역사적·상징적 의미가 크다”며 “단순한 스포츠 행사를 넘어 도민의 자긍심을 높이고, 모두가 하나되어 화합과 우정을 나누는 축제의 장이 되도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
이어 “지역의 문화와 역동성을 널리 알리는 계기로 삼아 양 군민 모두가 자부심을 느낄 수 있는 대회로 만들겠다”고 강조했다.

성낙인 창녕군수도 대회사에서 “이번 체전은 경남 도민체전 역사상 ‘군부 최초 개최’이자 ‘최초 공동 개최’로, 지방자치와 균형발전의 새로운 이정표가 될 것”이라며, “‘아라가야’의 함안과 ‘비화가야’의 창녕이 행정구역을 넘어 하나의 목표로 나아가는 과정 자체가 진정한 화합의 실현”이라고 말했다.
이어 “창녕과 함안은 도민체전 성공이라는 수레를 이끄는 두 바퀴와 같다”며 “서로의 속도와 균형을 맞춰 ‘원팀’으로 준비한다면, 역대 어느 대회보다 안전하고 수준 높은 명품 체전이 될 것”이라고 확신했다.
양 군의 준비위원 대표들은 결의문 낭독을 통해 △성공적 행사를 위한 모든 역량 결집 △개최지 군민으로서의 명예와 자긍심 고취 △18개 시·군이 함께하는 화합과 축제의 장 조성을 위해 최선을 다할 것을 다짐했다.
이어 참석자 전원이 참여한 ‘성공 개최 기원 퍼포먼스’로 오는 4월 열릴 대회의 성공을 한마음으로 기원했다.
한편, 제65회 경상남도민체육대회는 오는 4월 17일부터 20일까지 4일간 함안군과 창녕군 일원에서 개최되며, 양 군은 이번 발대식을 계기로 ‘화합체전·참여체전·안전체전’이라는 3대 목표 달성을 위해 행정력을 집중할 계획이다.
