지역 일자리 공시제는 고용노동부가 추진하는 정책으로, 지방자치단체가 지역 특성에 맞는 일자리 목표와 세부 대책을 자율적으로 수립해 주민들에게 공개하는 제도다.
영덕군은 이번 공시제를 통해 15세~64세 기준 고용률 75.0%, 취업자 수 1만1,200명 달성을 목표로 제시했다. 이를 위해 올해 총 5,494개의 일자리를 창출한다는 계획이다.
군은 고용률 제고와 지역경제 활성화를 위해 총 1,860억 원의 예산을 투입해 7대 분야 290개 사업을 추진한다.
주요 추진 분야는 △직접 일자리 창출 △직업능력개발훈련 제공 △고용서비스 강화 △고용장려금 지원 △창업 지원 △일자리 인프라 구축 △기타 일자리 사업 등이다.
특히 이번 대책에는 최근 발생한 대형 산불의 여파를 극복하고, 인구 감소에 따른 지역소멸 위기를 돌파하겠다는 군의 의지가 반영됐다는 평가다.
황인수 영덕부군수는 “지난해 경북 산불로 지역 경기가 위축되고 일자리 예산이 줄어드는 등 어려움이 많았다”며 “이번 계획을 차질 없이 추진해 산불 피해 회복을 넘어 군민 삶의 질 향상과 신규 일자리 창출, 지역 경기 활성화까지 이뤄내겠다”고 말했다.
