경북교육청은 오는 3월부터 도내 6개 대안교육기관 학생들에게 학기 중 평일 점심 급식비를 전면 지원한다고 2일 밝혔다.
이번 지원 대상 기관은 제자국제크리스천학교, 왈덴스학교, 동일프로이데 제2학교, 상주비전스쿨, 그루터기기독교학교, HILS 등 총 6곳이다.
학생 수는 3월 1일 기준으로 산정되며, 연간 190일 동안 1식당 약 6,500원이 지급될 예정이다.
사업비는 총 2억 4,576만 원으로 편성됐다. 이 가운데 경북교육청이 80%인 1억 9,661만 원을 부담하고, 경북도와 각 시·군이 나머지 20%에 해당하는 4,915만 원을 분담한다.
이번 사업은 내년 7월 시행되는 '대안교육기관에 관한 법률' 및 관련 시행령 개정에 따른 것으로, 급식비 지원의 법적 근거가 마련된 데 따른 조치다.
경북교육청은 법적 기준에 따라 도청과 예산 분담 협의를 거쳐 집행 방안을 마련했다고 설명했다.
급식비는 각 기관의 법인이나 대표자 명의의 전용계좌로 지급된다. 경북교육청은 급식비 사용 내역과 계좌 거래 내역 등을 점검해 부적정 집행이 드러날 경우 환수 조치를 취할 방침이다. 남은 예산은 연 1회 정산한 뒤 반납하도록 했다.
임종식 경북교육감은 "대안교육기관 학생들도 안정적인 급식 지원을 받을 수 있도록 제도적 기반을 마련했다"며 "앞으로도 학생들의 건강한 성장과 교육 여건 개선을 위해 다양한 지원을 이어가겠다"고 말했다.
