역사학자 심백강 박사가 저술한 '역사에 묻는다, 대한민국이 나아갈 길' 제목의 신간이 출간(도서출판 바른역사) 됐다.
도서출판 바른역사측은 이 책에 대한 보도자료에서 “우리가 길을 가는데 방향 설정을 잘못하여 서울을 가야 할 사람이 부산으로 가게 되면 그날 하루 일정은 완전히 낭패를 보게 된다. 그러나 그 낭패는 개인 한 사람에 국한될 뿐이다. 만일 국가의 최고 지도자가 방향 설정을 잘못했을 경우 그 피해는 전 국민에게 미친다. 결국 국가와 민족과 역사를 망치는 불행한 사태에까지 도달할 수도 있다. 그러므로 인생은 물론 국가도 속도보다 방향 설정이 더욱 중요한 것“이라고 전제하고 ”현재와 미래의 실마리를 풀어나가려는데 역사연구의 목적이 있다. 역사란 시간과 공간에서 인간이 사유하고 행동한 것을 기록으로 남긴 것이다. 한국의 역사는 한국민족이 사유하고 행동하며 시간과 공간에서 살아온 발자취로서 오늘 우리 삶의 뿌리이다. 우리가 지나간 과거의 역사를 연구하는 목적은 현재를 올바로 인식하고 미래를 바르게 설계하기 위함이다. 현재와 미래의 문제를 슬기롭게 실마리를 풀어나가려는데 역사를 연구하는 궁극적인 목표가 있다”고 소개했다.
이어 “한국인의 DNA 속에는 세계를 경영했던 대륙의 붉은 피가 흐르고 있다. 우리 밝달민족의 역사는 바이칼에서 서울의 백악산에 이르는 방대한 여정이었다. 발해 유역에서 황하문명을 앞서는 홍산문화를 창조하여 아시아의 역사문화를 견인해온 것이 우리 민족이 걸어온 길이다. 한국인의 DNA 속에는 지난날 세계를 경영하고 지배했던 대륙의 붉은 피가 흐르고 있는 것”이라면서 “역사문화선진국 대한민국 지도자의 어깨는 무겁다. 흉노, 거란, 여진은 한때 강대한 세력으로 대륙을 지배했지만 지금 저들은 국가도 민족도 없다. 세계 역사상 국가와 민족과 역사를 지키며 반만년 이상을 면면히 이어온 것은 우리 한민족 뿐이다. 따라서 역사문화선진국 대한민국의 지도자 어깨 위에 지워진 책무는 그 어느 나라보다도 막중하고 국가를 올바른 방향으로 이끌어가기 위한 방향 설정이 갖는 중요성은 아무리 강조해도 지나치지 않는다”고 피력했다.
또한 “5,000년 전 한국의 첫 국가 환국桓國의 건국은 만리장성 밖 홍산문화의 발굴이 고고학적으로 그것을 증명하고 사고전서四庫全書의 보급으로 인해 발해만 부근에 있었던 고조선의 실체가 문헌적으로 고증된다. 대한민국의 지도자는 이러한 국가와 민족과 역사에 대한 확고한 인식을 기반으로 역사적인 긴 안목에서 국내 정책을 입안하고 국제적 대외관계를 수립해야 할 것”이라고 덧붙였다.
