<브레이크뉴스 춘천 = 이향석 기자> 춘천시와 춘천교육지원청이 '정원교육도시 춘천' 조성을 위해 상호 긴밀한 협력체계를 구축한다.
육동한 춘천시장과 장진호 춘천교육장은 23일 춘천시청 접견실에서 '봄내 꿈나무 정원사 양성 및 정원문화 확산'을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.
이번 협약에 따라 춘천시는 강사 및 재료 지원, 학교 정원 가꾸기 지원을 비롯해 관내 정원시설에 대한 이용 혜택을 제공한다. 춘천교육지원청은 유·초·중등 교육과정과 연계해 각 학교에 사업을 안내하고 참여 학교를 선정하는 등 적극적인 행정 지원에 나선다.

앞서 춘천시는 지난해 강원명진학교와 춘천교대부설초등학교 2곳에서 '봄내 꿈나무 정원사 양성' 시범운영을 성공적으로 마친 바 있다. 이를 바탕으로 올해는 총 11개 학교가 참여해 250여 명의 미래 정원사를 육성할 계획이다.

육동한 춘천시장은 "이번 협약은 춘천이 '정원도시'를 넘어 '정원교육도시'로 발돋움하는 출발점이 될 것"이라며, "양 기관의 지속적인 교류와 협력을 통해 완성된 정원도시로서의 가치를 높이는 데 큰 동력이 될 것으로 기대한다"고 말했다.
장진호 교육장 역시 "이번 협약을 계기로 정원교육을 체계적으로 확대해, 학생들이 일상 속에서 자연과 함께 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다"고 밝혔다.
