대전 서구가 기후 위기 시대에 발맞춰 지속 가능한 미래를 준비하기 위한 환경교육의 새로운 청사진을 그린다.
대전 서구는 구민들의 환경 인식을 제고하고 지속 가능한 지역 공동체를 구축하기 위해 ‘제2차 환경교육계획(2027~2031년) 수립 용역’에 본격 착수했다고 23일 밝혔다.
이번 용역은 관련 법률과 조례에 근거해 향후 5년간 서구가 나아갈 환경교육의 정책적 지향점을 설정하는 중장기 프로젝트다.
서구는 그동안 환경교육의 기틀을 닦는 데 주력해 왔다. 특히 지난해 노루벌적십자생태원을 지역 환경교육센터로 지정하며 서구만의 특화된 생태 교육 기반을 성공적으로 마련했다는 평가를 받고 있다.
이번 2차 계획의 핵심 지향점은 ‘환경시민과 함께 만드는 환경교육도시’다. 구는 전 세대를 아우르는 생활밀착형 교육 체계를 구축해 구민 개개인이 탄소중립 실천가로 거듭날 수 있도록 기후 위기 대응 역량을 강화하는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
구체적으로는 오는 5월까지 용역을 진행하며 서구 환경교육 실태 및 여건 분석 ,중장기 비전 및 단계별 추진 전략 수립 ,환경교육 활성화를 위한 인프라 구축 방안 등을 심도 있게 검토할 예정이다.
