정준영 계룡시장 예비후보, ‘1000명 시민선대위’ 출범…

더불어민주당 정준영 계룡시장 예비후보가 23일 ‘시민과 함께하는 1000명 시민 선거대책위원회(이하 시민선대위)’를 공식 출범시키며 본격적인 경선 행보에 나섰다.

이번 시민선대위는 기존 정치 중심의 선거 조직 틀을 벗어나 시민이 직접 참여하고 운영하는 시민주도형 선거조직으로 꾸려진 것이 특징이다. 정 후보는 출범식에서 “계룡의 주인은 언제나 시민이며, 이번 선거부터 그 철학을 실천하겠다”며 “깨어있는 시민의 힘으로 계룡의 변화를 반드시 만들어가겠다”고 강조했다.

선대위 총괄본부장은 김정순 전 계룡시의장이 맡아 지역 의정 경험을 살린 현장 중심 선거를 이끌 예정이다. 

정 후보는 “우리 사회의 위기마다 시민의 의지가 나라를 바로 세웠다”며 “12.3 내란 사태 등 민주주의의 위기에서도 시민의 단결력은 역사를 바꿨다”고 말하고, “노무현 전 대통령의 말씀처럼 깨어있는 시민의 조직된 힘이 민주주의의 최후 보루이자 발전의 원동력임을 계룡에서도 실천하겠다”고 덧붙였다.

그는 이번 시민선대위를 통해 △교육·체육·복지·경제 등 생활 현안 중심의 시정 비전 확립 △시민 참여형 정책 제안 플랫폼 구축 △분열이 아닌 통합의 선거 운동을 추진하겠다는 계획도 밝혔다. 

정 후보는 “시민의 의견을 모아 계룡 발전의 실질적 공약으로 다듬고, 시민과 함께 검증하는 과정을 통해 진정한 시민의 시장이 되겠다”고 말했다.
