[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 통영시는 도서지역 주민들의 교통 불편 해소와 이동권 보장을 위해 추진 중인 ‘섬 택시’ 사업을 오는 3월 1일부터 정식 운행한다.
대중교통 이용이 불편한 도서지역의 특성을 고려한 맞춤형 교통복지 사업인 ‘섬 택시’사업은 육지 브라보 택시와 연계한 ‘수요 응답형 교통 서비스’로 1회 1000원, 세대별 월 3회 이용할 수 있다.
이용요금 중 1000원을 제외한 나머지 요금은 시에서 지원한다.
시는 2월 말까지 임시운행 기간으로 정하고 임시운행 기간 동안 ‘섬 택시’ 운행 홍보와 운행에 따른 불편사항 등을 파악해 보완·개선한 뒤, 3월 1일부터 본격적으로 운행한다는 계획이다.
특히 고령 인구 비율이 높은 도서지역 주민들은 이번 사업을 통해 병원 진료, 장보기, 관공서 방문 등 일상생활에 필요한 이동이 한층 편리해질 것으로 기대한다.
‘섬 택시’이용은 통합콜센터를 통해 이용할 수 있으며 월 3회 브라보 택시 이용을 제외한 일반 택시 이용은 미터기 요금으로 이용이 가능하다.
‘브라보 섬 택시 운행’과 관련한 세부 사항은 해당 도서지역 면사무소나 통영시 교통과에서 안내받을 수 있다.
시 관계자는“섬 택시는 단순한 교통수단 지원을 넘어 도서지역 주민의 삶의 질을 높이는 생활 밀착형 정책으로 앞으로도 교통 사각지대 해소를 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
