[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 거제해양관광개발공사 거제메이커센터가 중소벤처기업부가 실시한 ‘2025년 메이커스페이스 운영평가’에서 4년 연속 최고 등급인 ‘S등급’을 달성했다.
이번 평가는 전국 메이커스페이스 및 창업지원기관을 대상으로 운영 성과, 프로그램의 우수성, 지역 기여도, 사업 관리 역량 등을 종합적으로 평가해 등급을 부여하는 제도다.
거제메이커센터는 체계적인 운영 시스템을 바탕으로 차별화된 창업 지원 프로그램을 운영하고, 지역 산업과의 긴밀한 연계성을 확보해 괄목할 만한 성과를 창출했다는 점에서 높은 점수를 받았다.
특히 △메이커 교육 프로그램 확대 운영 △예비·초기 창업자 맞춤형 지원 △지역 산업 특화 프로젝트 추진 △장비 활용도 및 공간 운영 효율성 제고 등에서 우수한 실적을 거두며 지역 창업 생태계 활성화에 기여한 점이 핵심 성과로 평가됐다.
박주언 거제메이커센터 센터장은 “거제메이커센터가 지역 창업자들의 실질적인 성장 기반이 될 수 있도록 우수하게 운영할 수 있었던 바탕에는 거제시의 전폭적인 지원이 있었다”며, “앞으로도 센터 운영에 최선을 다해 지역 메이커 문화 확산에 앞장서겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.
거제메이커센터는 향후 성장 단계별 창업 지원 체계를 더욱 고도화하고, 지역 특화 산업 연계 프로그램을 확대해 지속 가능한 창업 생태계 조성에 박차를 가할 계획이다.
한편, 센터는 그간의 성과를 시민들과 공유하기 위해 7월 13일부터 17일까지 거제시청 1층 ‘도란도란 문화쉼터’ 전시실에서 시제품 제작 전시회를 개최할 예정이다.
