[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 함양군 지역 여성들로 구성된 ‘함양군 RISE 여성족구단’이 창단식을 갖고 본격적인 출범을 알렸다.
지난달 28일 함양군 스포츠파크 실내족구장에서 창단식을 가진 'RISE 여성족구단’은 전국 단위 족구 대회에 경상남도 대표로 출전할 수 있는 경쟁력 있는 선수단을 육성하고 여성 체육 저변을 넓히기 위해 창단됐다.
노창현 초대 단장을 중심으로 선수단을 구성하고 본격적인 훈련에 돌입했다.
창단 직후 팀은 3월 1일 열린 전국체전 경남도 대표 선발전에 출전해 진주팀과 접전을 펼쳤으나 세트스코어 3대2로 아쉽게 패하며 전국체전 대표 합류에는 이르지 못했다.
그러나 창단 초기임에도 불구하고 뛰어난 경기력과 조직력을 인정받아 ‘2026년 전국생활체육대축전’ 경상남도 대표팀에 최종 선정되는 성과를 거뒀다.
진병영 함양군수는 “함양 RISE 여성족구단의 창단은 지역 여성 체육 발전의 새로운 도전이자 출발점”이라며 “경상남도 대표팀 선정이라는 값진 성과를 바탕으로 더 큰 성장과 활약을 이어가길 기대한다”고 전했다.
노창현 함양 RISE 여성족구단 단장은 “오늘 창단은 끝이 아니라 시작이라며, 경남을 대표하는 팀으로 한 단계 더 성장시켜, 다가오는 4월 전국생활체육대축전에서 좋은 성적 거둘 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 포부를 밝혔다.
