[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 중국 수산물 유통 및 가공협회 관계자 등이 통영을 방문해 수산물 가공공장 및 굴 위판장을 견학했다고 통영시가 4일 밝혔다.
중국 수산물 유통 및 가공협회는 1994년에 설립돼 현재 수산물 어획, 양식, 생산, 가공, 유통, 무역, 보관, 물류, 전자상거래 등 전 분야를 아우르고 있는 약 1700개 회원기업과 34개 지사로 구성돼 있으며 수출 가능 품목과 신규 거래처 확보를 위해 통영을 방문했다.
이번 방문은 수산식품산업 거점센터에서 통영시와 굴수하식수협, 멍게수하식수협, 멸치권현망수협, 근해장어통발수협 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 통영 수산업 현황과 대표 수산물 소개를 통한 중국시장 수출 확대 간담회가 진행됐다.
이어 중국 바이어 일행은 현대화된 수산물 가공공장과 굴수협 위판장 및 위생관리실을 차례로 방문해 통영 수산물의 위생적인 가공처리 과정과 굴 경매 및 자체 위생관리 현장을 직접 확인하며 통영 수산물의 우수성을 확인하는 시간을 가졌다.
중국 수산물 유통 및 가공협회 관계자는 “수산현장 견학을 통해 통영 수산물의 철저한 위생 관리 체계와 우수한 품질을 직접 확인했으며 향후 중국 시장으로의 수입이 확대되길 기대한다”고 말했다.
송무원 수산환경국장은 “통영 수산물은 미국 식품의약국이 인정하는 청정해역에서 안전하고 우수한 수산물이 생산되는 만큼 통영 수산물을 많이 수입해 줄 것을 당부한다”며 “이번 만남이 일회성으로 끝나지 않고 지속적인 사후관리를 통해 실질적인 수출계약이 체결될 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 전했다.
한편 통영시는 수산물의 중국 수출 확대를 위해 지속적으로 유관기관과 수산물 수출업체들의 애로사항을 청취하고 실질적인 해결 방안을 함께 모색해 나갈 방침이다.
