정월대보름을 앞두고 고양특례시에 달빛처럼 따뜻한 나눔이 전해졌다.
고양특례시는 지난 3일 대한불교조계종 여래사(주지 각심스님)로부터 지역 내 취약계층을 위한 쌀 300포를 기부받았다고 밝혔다.
이날 전달식은 고양시 일산동구 마두동에 위치한 통도사 일산포교당 여래사에서 열렸으며, 이동환 시장과 각심스님을 비롯해 불자 200여 명이 참석해 나눔의 의미를 함께 나눴다.

행사장은 정월대보름의 의미를 되새기며 이웃 사랑을 실천하는 따뜻한 분위기 속에서 진행됐다.
여래사는 매년 지역사회의 소외된 이웃을 위해 꾸준히 공양과 나눔 활동을 이어오며 불교의 자비 정신을 실천해오고 있다.
올해도 어김없이 불자들의 마음을 모아 마련한 쌀 300포를 기부하며 지역사회에 온기를 더했다.
이번에 전달된 쌀은 고양시사회복지협의회(회장 김응화)를 통해 관내 주요 사회복지기관과 시설에 신속히 배분될 예정이다.
각심스님은 전달식에서 “정월대보름을 맞아 부처님의 자비를 이웃과 함께 나누고자 불자들의 마음을 모았다”며 “이 작은 정성이 어려운 시기를 보내는 분들께 따뜻한 위로와 힘이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
이에 이동환 시장은 “뜻깊은 날 자비와 보시를 실천해 주신 여래사에 진심으로 감사드린다”며 “겨울철 쌓였던 눈이 녹듯, 보내주신 따뜻한 마음이 우리 이웃들의 걱정과 근심을 깨끗이 녹여줄 것이라 믿는다”고 화답했다.
